CSIRO: ON Program

OVERVIEW

Partnering with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), we supported Australian researchers as they endeavour to make an impact.

By joining our accelerator and pre-accelerator courses, researchers could identify and validate problem-solution-market fit, raise their funding, and make an enduring impact. Since commencement, many teams have launched on their own, selling products and services in the global market.

THE CHALLENGE

As Australia’s national science agency, CSIRO delivers wide-reaching accelerators for the benefit of our people. Their ON program coaches researchers in their entrepreneurial mindset, helping to commercialise their science.

Using innovation, commercialisation and business model design, we co-designed and facilitated the ON program. Every year, our teams work to refresh and enhance the ON program, ensuring the program continues to thrive in the future. Since 2015, ON has partnered with thousands of researchers, entrepreneurs and start-ups - turning technology ideas into real-world impact.

THE PROJECT

Partnering with CSIRO, we co-designed and facilitated the ON program.

TOGETHER WE:

  • Tailored methodologies into usable tools, altering based on technology and investment readiness level

  • Identified skills and capabilities needed to reflect both theoretical and practical experience

  • Developed a program that helps technology researchers understand the problem they are solving

THE RESULT

Since its launch, our design, facilitation and experience has helped increase ON's impact in the industry. Through the CSIRO, ON has supported over 2000 researchers from 38 universities and 4 Australian Publicly Funded Research Agencies.

THE FUTURE

Between renewable energy, quantum computing and complex health care, graduates of ON are actively solving real world challenges – right now.
